In 1963, Alberto V. Zuccardi planted the first vineyard in the Maipú Valley. After his son, José, took over, Sebastián, the third-generation winemaker, is now at the helm of Zuccardi.
For the third time in a row, Zuccardi's vineyards in Valle de Uco have been named "World's Best Vineyard," and Sebastián is among the top 10 winemakers in South America. The Zuccardi winery is therefore among the absolute best in the world. Everything is carefully considered, from the specially designed cement tanks to the complete analysis of the 60 (!) different soil compositions of the vineyards. Some vineyards contain as many as 10 different soil types. Each variety produces a different yield and ensures a different harvest time.
