During the course, you will learn the following:

  • Master winetasting and describing, using the WSET2 level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting
  • Discover how the environment, grape growing, winemaking, and aging influence the style and quality of wines made from the eight principal grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio/Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah/Shiraz.
  • Evaluate the style and quality of wines made from 22 locally significant grape varieties, sourced from over 70 wine regions worldwide.
  • Learn more about sparkling and fortified wines: how they are made and which grapes are used?
  • Understand the various information on the wine label.
  • Learn how to serve and store wine.

Upon successful completion of the exam, you will receive the prestigious WSET Level 2 Wine Qualification, which qualifies you for Level 3.

TIME

The course is delivered in a classroom setting and consists of a total of 16 hours, spread over 8 lessons of 2/2,5 hours each. Each lesson takes place from 19:00 to 21:00/21:30, unless otherwise specified. In addition to the classroom lessons, you should allocate 2 hours of self-study per week. The exam takes 1 hour.

Please note: The price includes VAT, study materials, and the exam. Approximately 45 wines will be tasted during the course, with a total value of about €800.
