Aromatic nose with complex aromas of ripe red fruit and spices. A very pleasant mouthfeel thanks to the presence of ripe tannins and juicy acidity. A seductive wine! It rivals the finest Burgundies.

Winemaker

Weingut Nelles is one of six VDP producers in the Ahr Valley. Membership to the VDP is by invitation only, meaning you're among the best producers in your region. At Nelles, 20% of the red wines are drained immediately after crushing. This juice is used to make a Blanc de Noir; the remaining 80% of the juice is more complex, powerful, and has a firmer structure and is used for the red wines.
