Vajra, Dolcetto d'Alba 2023
Elegant, fruity wine from high vineyards.
Inviting and charming, with aromas of wild berries and mulberry on the nose, complemented by notes of white pepper, sweet spices, and fresh thyme. Full of juicy fruit on the palate, with hints of dark fruit and fresh plums, and a touch of almond on the elegant finish.
The grapes come from various high-altitude vineyards. After harvest, fermentation takes place for 15 to 20 days, with the skins regularly immersed in the must. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months in stainless steel, which optimally preserves the Dolcetto's vibrant, fruity aromas.

A unique family winery in Piedmont, guaranteeing consistently high-quality wines in a modern, fruity style. Vajra's vineyards are located northwest of Barolo and have been organically farmed from the start. The high altitude of the vineyards (the Bricco delle Viole is among the highest vineyards in Piedmont) creates a wide temperature range between day and night. The grapes ripen slowly and fully, giving the wines wonderful finesse and elegance. The relatively cool climate in this region has led many winemakers to harvest the Dolcetto grape, as it requires warmth to fully develop. However, the Vajra family still produces beautiful rosé and red wines from this grape.
