Tre Monti - When Thea and Sergio Navacchia embarked on this wine adventure in the early 1970s, they had no idea what awaited them. However, they did have a clear vision of the path they were taking. Sergio and Thea, together in their own way, were revolutionaries at the time. Their revolution, which began in the vineyard, consisted of higher planting density per hectare and experimentation with vines not traditional to the region. Vittorio and David, their sons, continued their life's work after their mother's death in 1989. Important collaborations developed with the best Italian oenologists who were brought in. A young Francesco Spagnolli, then Vittorio Fiore and Donato Lanati, whose teachings were fundamental to Vittorio's growth as manager of the company's agronomic and oenological management. From 1997 onward, their great success began with a Tre-bicchieri mention in the Gambero Rosso. After the mandatory three years of conversion, starting with the 2014 harvest, their grapes and wines are now also certified organic. Tre Monti is proof that Emilia Romagna doesn't just make boring Lambrusco.
