Seguin-Manuel, Chassagne Montrachet Vieilles Vignes 2022

€93

This Seguin-Manuel, from AOP Chassagne Montrachet from old vines from 2022, is a full-bodied, elegant, wood-matured white wine made from Chardonnay.

The aroma reveals fresh orchard fruit, vanilla, and toasted hazelnuts. The palate is concentrated and creamy with soft, fresh acidity and aromas of flint, toasted nuts, stone fruit, and wood. A beautiful balance between fruit and acidity and a long finish.

Winemaker

This winery was founded by Seguin Manuel some 180 years ago. In 2004, winemaker Thibaut Marion took over the estate. The 45-year-old Thibaut comes from a family of winemakers in the Beaune region. He spent seven years learning the ropes at the renowned Chanson Père & Fils winery. The Seguin Manuel winery has been completely modernized in recent years. Under Thibaut's leadership, the estate has grown annually through the acquisition of more and more vineyards. The original vineyards were located in Savigny-lès-Beaune, but new vineyards were purchased in Beaune and Puligny-Montrachet in 2007, and more recently in Pommard, Meursault, and Vosne-Romanée. In total, the Seguin Manuel estate covers 8.5 hectares. All vineyards are farmed entirely organically, without the use of chemicals.
