Philippe le Hardi, Santenay La Comme 1er Cru 2023
A clear wine with a full, yellow color. The nose is expressive and highly aromatic, with notes of ripe fruit, apricot, and hazelnut. The attack is rich and oily, while the palate offers a beautiful balance between acidity and ripe fruit, with the fruit flavors complementing the oak notes beautifully. The finish is very long and powerful, yet concludes with fine acidity.

Château Philippe le Hardi is one of the largest wine estates in Burgundy. The imposing castle in Santenay dates back to the 9th century and was owned by Philippe le Hardi (Philip the Bold), Duke of Burgundy, for part of the 14th century. With his "Ordonnance de Philippe le Hardi," he laid the foundation for single-varietal viticulture in Burgundy, which permitted the planting of only Pinot Noir and no longer Gamay for winemaking.
