Expressive nose with aromas of bergamot, ripe apple, pineapple, papaya, lemon, tea tree, Mediterranean herbs and nutty notes in the background.

The wine is not disgorged, meaning it matures on the lees until it is opened by the end consumer. Therefore, the wine must be disgorged at home, after being left upside down for at least 24 hours! Quite a spectacle.

Winemaker

Ales Kristancic inherited his parents' dilapidated winery, which was then located behind the Iron Curtain in Slovenia. Before the Communist era, the finest wines were produced here; this market disappeared due to the economic collapse. However, the family continued to produce quality wines, rather than producing them in bulk as mandated by the government. By smuggling these wines to the West and selling them, they stayed afloat during these difficult times. Because they always focused on quality, they now have a head start in the renaissance of Slovenian viticulture, and their wines remain among the finest.
