Les Vins de Vienne, Saint-Joseph Blanc 'Le Biez' blanc 2019
AOC Saint-Joseph
Full, elegant white wine
An intense glass, with ripe stone fruit (apricot), butter, and light spice aromas on the nose. On the palate, the wine begins very soft and sultry, with the oak influence and roundness of the grape itself noticeable. The finish is surprisingly fresh and spicy.

Vins de Vienne is a collaboration between three top producers from the Northern Rhône: François Villard, Yves Cuileron, and Pierre Gaillard. It all began with the discovery of old abandoned vineyards near Vienne, 25 kilometers from Lyon. The vineyards lie on the banks of the river, near the famous town of Condrieu, where the Rhône Valley is at its narrowest. The vineyards are situated on steep slopes. Pierre discovered that these Vienne vineyards had already been highly praised in antiquity and the Middle Ages, but now they lay abandoned. All three quickly became convinced that wines could be produced here that would rank among the finest Rhône wines. The project has been a resounding success. So successful, in fact, that several winemakers in the area, with some of the finest vineyards in the Rhône Valley, have partnered with the three friends. And now, Vins de Vienne produces a variety of wines throughout the Rhône Valley.
