Kathy and Gary Jordan, after both working abroad for two years, took over the estate, purchased by Gary's parents in 1982, in 1992. Fortunately, Gary had already been involved in the plantings in the 1980s. Gary is a geologist and used his knowledge to analyze the terroir, ensuring that each grape variety was planted in the right spot. Today, Jordan benefits enormously from these choices. Their vineyards are now mature enough to produce fantastic complexity, while other producers are only just beginning to plant the right vines in the right soil. Jordan is the only estate in Stellenbosch with vineyards planted in all directions. It is a true family business that has been producing high-quality wines for years.
