Giovanni Rosso, Barolo 'Serralunga' 2020
Beautiful classic Barolo from only vineyards in Serralunga.
Ruby red with a light intensity and a distinct coloration at the rim. The nose offers floral notes (rose, violet), black cherries, undergrowth, coffee, and licorice. The palate is soft and firm, with a strong finish thanks to the beautiful acidity and fine tannins. A very long, mineral, and earthy finish.

A traditional family business from Serralunga d'Alba in the Barolo region, it owns beautiful vineyards in this village. For over 100 years, the Rosso family has owned several vineyards in the Langhe region, where the finest Crus are now produced, including Cerretta, La Serra, and Broglio. In the early 1980s, Giovanni Rosso restructured the vineyards, focusing entirely on producing exceptional wines. His son, Davide, took over full management of the company after Giovanni's death. Davide is a highly terroir-driven winemaker who practices entirely organic farming and practices limited green harvesting in the vineyards, but also rigorous winter pruning. Vinification takes place in cement vats, as these absorb heat better than stainless steel. Davide aims for the flavor of pure Nebbiolo and terroir, without any oak influence, so the aging takes place in botte (large wooden barrels). Davide's motto is that the wine should reflect the terroir.
