Branco Cotar started making wine some 40 years ago out of pure necessity. They had a restaurant (which has a long history) that served traditional food, which included lots of animal fats, meat, and flavors like sauerkraut. He searched for wines to complement this, and with this mindset, the winery was born. Wines that complement their cuisine are rich in tannin, require a long aging process, and always offer a beautiful balance of herbs, fruit, and acidity. Branco now works with his son, Vasna, and they still make the wines just as they were in the old days.
