Chateau de Rochemorin, blanc 2018
A very refined and special wood-fermented Pessac-Léognan, made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc.
The nose combines the vegetal aromas of the Sauvignon Blanc with the beautifully interwoven wood, which lends smoky aromas. The palate is quite powerful, but noticeably less rounded than wines with added Sémillon. This results in a beautifully delicate and fresh wine with a good finish.
This wine was once tested as the best in Decanter.

André Lurton, a scion of the famous dynasty, owned several châteaux in Bordeaux, including Château Rochemorin. The château's origins date back to the 16th century, when a nobleman from Sarlat (Perigord) purchased the estate, cleared parts of the forest, and planted vineyards. After these vineyards fell into disrepair at the beginning of the 20th century, André Lurton purchased the estate in 1973 and restored it to its former glory. He produced fantastic wines, particularly in Pessac-Léognan, where he owned three properties. In our opinion, those from Rochemorin offer the best value for money. The wines are "classic" in style but crafted with exceptional care.
