Mineral, slightly aromatic white wine

A "classic" German vintage, characterized by a cool Spring and later shoots and later flowering period. The summer months brought abundant rain, challenging the vineyard team to work with even more attention and precision than in a dry year. On the other hand, the periodic rainfall did well for the Mittelhaardt, after three consecutive dry years. The water shortage was well compensated.

Another damp autumn forced us to a meticulous and vineyard-specific approach To achieve the ideal ripeness of the grapes. This has paid off! We were able to produce healthy, ripe grapes with an expressive flavor in the harvest from all our vineyards.

Bürklin-Wolf has classified its vineyards according to the system used in Burgundy. Grand Cru wines are at the top of the pyramid, followed by Premier Cru, Village, and then Estate wines. This classification is based on the "Royal Bavarian Vineyard Classification" of 1828.

Winemaker

For centuries, wine has been produced at Dr. Bürklin Wolf. On approximately 85 hectares, they primarily cultivate Riesling, among the finest in the entire region. This family-run winery, located in the Palatinate, is run by Bettina, the 22nd generation. She has carried on her grandfather's vision and began biodynamic winemaking in 2001, both in the vineyard and the cellar. This makes the wines even more terroir-driven and exciting! In the vineyard and cellar, very little is done to the wines; the goal is pure and distinctive wines. The wines are fermented and aged partly in stainless steel and partly in old wooden barrels. The wines are known for their distinctive character, a new style (modern) Riesling, with pronounced acidity and enormous length.
