Elegant, complex red wine. Deep in color, and a complex nose with notes of wildflowers, blackberries, and currants, and a very spicy note. On the palate, the wine is lively and juicy with ripe tannins. A great wine with a beautiful finish!

Bodegas Bhilar is a boutique winery located in Elvillar, Rioja Alavesa, and is run by husband and wife team David Sampedro and Melanie Hickman. They founded the business in 1999 and operate according to biodynamic principles. Their goal is to create wines with soul, respecting the land and using local grape varieties. Besides their Rioja wines, they also produce some wine in Salamanca, and Melanie runs a project called Struggling Vines, where she revitalizes old vineyards with quality grapes. All their wines are unique and highly distinctive.
