Mil Pesetas is one of many bodegas within a complex of buildings dating back to the 18th century, located in the neighborhood then known as San Blas.
The Barbadillo family renovated this Mudejar-style bodega and began the oxidative maturation of Amontillado here in 1920.
The Barbadillo family's dedication to the entire winemaking process—from vineyard to bottle—may be common in many renowned wine regions, but has long been an exception in the Sherry region. The result is wines with distinctive character, expressing both the terroir of the vineyards and the aging cellars—wines prized for their finesse, complexity, and authenticity.
