Alegre Valganon, Blanco er AÑO “SKIN” 2019
DOCa Rioja
A unique white Rioja, made from old Viura and Garnacha Blanca vines, complemented by Calagraño and Malvasía. After aging for an impressive 42 months in 500L oak barrels, this wine displays a deep golden color and impressive complexity. The nose reveals fresh herbs, citrus zest, almond, and hazelnut, with a salty, mineral undertone. The palate is intense and vibrant, with a beautiful balance of fresh acidity, citrus, nuttiness, and a long, mineral finish. Only 670 bottles were produced – a true rarity.
Perfect with rich fish dishes, paella, poultry, shellfish and crustaceans with strong preparations, but also delicious with charcuterie and mature cheeses.

Since 2014, Oscar and his wife Eva have been making wine in the village of Sajazarra in the northwest of the Rioja region. It's a small bodega that focuses on the terroir and special vineyards of the Rioja region. They trace the winemaking traditions of the past, before the use of all American oak and the production of heavy wines. The couple works plot by plot, with an equal distribution of Tempranillo, Granacha, and Cariñena for reds and primarily Viura and Malvasia for whites. Most of the vineyards are located on steep slopes in the cooler regions of the Rioja region. Minimal intervention is used in the winemaking process, allowing the terroir and grape varieties to shine through.
Oskar has been learning from his good friend Telmo Rodriguez. Together, they fight for authentic Rioja.
