Alegre Valgañón, Bahierra 2020
DOCa Rioja
A unique single-vineyard wine from Sajazarra, made from nearly 100-year-old Tempranillo vines, supplemented with Viura, Garnacha, and other varieties. The wine is intense and refined, with aromas of blackcurrant, ripe fruit, and a hint of black pepper. The palate is broad and elegant, with vibrant freshness, ripe tannins, and a long, precise finish. Only 640 bottles produced.
Perfect with lamb, game, stews, or a nice plate of aged cheeses. It's also a beautiful wine to drink now, but it has excellent aging potential.

In 2014, Oscar and Eva began their wine adventure in the village of Sajazarra in northwestern Rioja. From the outset, their focus has been on terroir and traditional winemaking, working according to methods of the past, before the use of American oak and heavy wines. Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Cariñena are the mainstays of their red wines, while Viura and Malvasia play the leading roles in their white varieties. Situated on steep slopes in the cooler parts of Rioja, they cherish the natural environment in which their vineyards thrive.
With a minimalist approach, they let terroir and grapes take center stage in their wines. Inspired by their good friend Telmo Rodriguez, Oscar and Eva stand side by side in their quest for authentic Rioja wines. Their story embodies a return to the roots of winemaking, where tradition and passion converge in every bottle they produce.
