The calling card of the terroir and style of Gattinara. The grapes come from several parcels on some 350 to 400 meters high, south to southwest facing slopes. Cool nights and the volcanic soil give the wine a delicate, mineral character with fresh acidity.
After harvest, the grapes ferment on stainless steel, then the wine matures for 30 months in large traditional Slavonian oak barrels. The wine is very refined in the nose, with aromas of juicy red cherries, roses, violets and some spicy notes, minerality and licorice in the background. Elegant and delicate on the palate with small red fruits and flowers, fine acidity and a fine grip from the nicely ripe tannins. The wine is bottled in the bottle specially designed by Giancarlo Travaglini.
